Soil health experts from across the country will present at the 2022 Delmarva Soil Summit on Monday, Feb. 7 and 8, 2022, at the Wicomico Youth and Civic Center in Salisbury, Md. Whether you farm 2 or 2,000 acres, live on Delmarva or beyond, this conference will deliver information for all production systems and scales, providing the “Groundwork for the Future.”

Day One includes plenary speaker Ray Archuleta, farmer and founder of Understanding Ag, LLC, and Soil Health Academy, LLC, morning and afternoon breakout sessions, and a networking event with research posters.

Day Two opens with plenary speaker Heather Darby, farmer, University of Vermont Extension professor, and agronomy specialist. Morning and afternoon breakout sessions and a farmer panel discussion round out the rest of day two.

Breakout sessions and farmer panel discussions will deliver information relevant to small- and large-scale growers.

The virtual ($80) and in-person ($100) tickets cover both conference days. The in-person option includes meals, research updates, poster session and conference reception. All participants will receive networking opportunities during the event, as well as access to all recordings of keynote and breakout sessions for one full year. Scholarships are available to help defray the cost of attendance for those in need.

This event is made possible by Future Harvest, Million Acre Challenge, Sussex Conservation District and the University of Maryland Extension. Sponsors include the Maryland Department of Agriculture, USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, Prince George’s Soil Conservation District, Blackwater Preservation LLC, Delaware Department of Agriculture, MidAtlantic Farm Credit and the Delaware Center for the Inland Bays.
