Achieving the project’s goal of one million acres of healthy soils in Maryland would help the state’s agriculture sector meet its Chesapeake Bay restoration goals by decreasing the amount of nitrogen, phosphorus, and agricultural pesticides that flow into the Chesapeake Bay.
