This month, we connect with Dr. Nadine Burton-Stubbs who is the Alternative Crop Specialist for the Small Farm Outreach Program with University of Maryland Eastern Shore. Nadine will speak to her experience with growing alternative crops such as callaloo, sorrel and scotch bonnet peppers, all high-valued crops with high yield and value-added potential, which can increase farm income. Growing these crops contributes to positive soil health outcomes, has economic benefits and supports food security while also diversifying crop offerings.
